A map is a representation or drawing of the earth's surface or part of it drawn on a flat surface according to a scale. Studying maps is an important part of not only practical knowledge but also skills. Our creative Presidians of Grade-6 enhanced their skill of reading and labeling the map by indulging in the various activities. They understood the difference between Physical, Political & Thematic maps. They recognized three important components of maps - Distance, direction & Symbols. They utilized different colors, symbols, and imagery, which makes them extremely useful for visual thinkers or those who struggle to retain and recall information. They were provided enough assistance to identify and correct errors and given enough opportunities to practice skills across a range of challenges sufficient for them to achieve full mastery.
