CONSTELLATION ACTIVITY: PRESIDIANS EXPLORE THE ASTRONOMICAL WORLD

A Constellation is a group of stars that make up an imaginary outline or pattern in the night sky. Different cultures have associated mythological creatures and stories with varying constellations of stars. Under the theme 'Sky' in TBL, our Presidians of Grade 3 took the opportunity to observe, explore, and talk about the constellation, wherein they created their constellations in their own way. Every student actively participated in this activity and created beautiful drawings from their learnings with different materials such as stick-ons, star stickers, black sheets, glitter pens, and white markers. It was a delightful experience for them. This activity allowed students to create their constellations and stories from a given pattern of stars and compare them to what other cultures have seen in the same pattern.

PRESIDIANS MARK THE JOYOUS FESTIVAL OF RAKSHABANDHAN WITH GUSTO!

“The paths may change as life goes along, but the bond between a brother and sister remains ever strong.” Rakshabandhan is a festival that celebrates the love and affection between brother and sister. The bonding between the two is simply unique and is beyond description. Presidians of Grade 1 celebrated Raksha Bandhan by conducting a special virtual assembly marked by usual fervour and gaiety associated with the occasion. It was an inspiring assembly conducted by the students. The assembly consisted of thought of the day, news of the day, and poem followed by a scintillating dance that brightened the atmosphere and a mellifluous song accentuating the love and affection shared between a brother and a sister. The highlight of the event was an enthralling Skit that depicted the significance of the festival of love and protection -Raksha Bandhan.

PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE THE SPECIAL BOND OF FRIENDSHIP!

A true friend is a blessing indeed; be it to share a laugh or to wipe a tear, the presence of an understanding confidante can make the world a better place. To celebrate the special bond of Friendship, students of Presidium presented a special assembly. The assembly began with a wonderful thought that enlightened the importance of Friendship. Students portrayed the importance of harmonious Friendship, which can be with co-students, family members, pets, or the people we have known for years through a poem for grandmother, dance performance, and reading an open letter for father. The students successfully communicated that Friendship is the most precious gift of life. People in friendship must trust and help each other to make the right choices.

GLOBAL TIGER DAY: STUDENTS PLEDGE TO SAVE THE LORD OF THE JUNGLE!

Global Tiger Day, often called International Tiger Day, is an annual celebration to raise awareness for tiger conservation. Students of Presidium raised their voice to double the number of wild tigers by the year 2022. To promote this cause, our Presidians conducted a special assembly on ‘Save Tigers.’ They shared various reasons as to why the Lord of jungles is on the verge of extinction. They also exchanged solutions through which we can protect our magnificent Tigers. The young Presidians talked about the project ‘Save Tigers’ and shared the tiger’s pivotal role in balancing & maintaining the ecosystem through a Powerpoint presentation. Students urged to join the pledge to protect the environment by saving tigers.

YOUNG STUDENTS LEARN ABOUT THE GOOD AND BAD TOUCH

To teach young students about “Good Touch Bad Touch” Presidium organized an assembly. At times, parents hesitate to speak on sensitive topics. But, the fact remains that it is pertinent that our young students learn about this, as this is also an important part of growing up. Through a skit, our students were taught about good touch and bad touch. The goal here was to inform our children about the dangers, without causing any anxiety. This assembly helped in making young students understand the difference and staying safe.

हम सबका कर्तव्य है की हम हिंदी को राष्ट्रभाषा के पद पर आसीन करने के लिए हर संभव प्रयास करें। हिंदी व्याकरण, हिंदी भाषा को शुद्ध रूप में लिखने और बोलने संबंधी नियमों का बोध करानेवाला शास्त्र है। यह हिंदी भाषा के अध्ययन का महत्त्वपूर्ण हिस्सा है। हिन्दी के महत्व को नज़र रखते हुए तथा छात्रों में उत्सुकता बढ़ाने के लिए प्रिसीडियम पीतमपुरा स्कूल की कक्षा दो के छात्रों ने व्याकरण चकरी खेल खेला। बच्चे दी हुई, व्याकरण की अवधारणाओं की समझ पिछले चरण में विकसित कर चुके थे। इस गतिविधि के द्वारा पुनः लिंग बदलो, एक-अनेक, विलोम शब्दों, द्वित्व व्यंजन, तुकांत शब्दों, और समानार्थी शब्दों की समझ को सुदृढ़ करवाया गया। इस गतिविधि के साथ एक और गतिविधि करवाई गई जिसमे बच्चों ने अक्षरों का खेल पीटरा (फ़्लैश कार्ड) की मदद से मात्राओं, स्वरों और व्यंजनों को जोड़कर वाक्य बनाए। इस गतिविधि के माध्यम से शब्दों का क्रम एवं उनके प्रयोग को सुदृढ़ करवाया गया। सभी छात्रों ने बढ़चढ़कर गतिविधियों का आनंद लिया।

PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE MAHA SHIVARATRI WITH ZEAL

Maha Shivaratri is a Hindu festival celebrated annually in honor of Lord Shiva and is known as the great night of Shiva. On this auspicious occasion, the students of Presidium presented a special assembly on Maha Shivaratri by showcasing a dance presentation on "SHIVA TANDAVA." The sacred mantra of Shiva 'Om Namah Shivaya' was chanted to begin the celebration. Dressed up in beautiful attires, students of grade 1 and 2 depicted the mythological 'Shiv Parvati' story through a skit. They also danced to the tune of 'Bhakti Geet' & sung the musical notes 'Mera Bhola Hai Bhandari.' The powers and the role of Lord Shiva in the natural cycle were also highlighted in the assembly. Through the assembly, students were able to understand and appreciate the ideologies behind Lord Shiva.

PRESIDIUM ORGANIZE A SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON WINTER SEASON

We, at Presidium, believe in imparting knowledge through innovative methods and one of the most novel one is through the assemblies. Presidians of grade Prep conducted their class assembly with the topic ‘Winter Season.' The assembly commenced with a Morning Prayer which is believed to provide peace and serenity to our minds and souls. Students exhibited the woolen clothes and aids used to save ourselves from the winter. They smartly ramp walked on the stage and spoke about the use of sweaters, mufflers, gumboots, and Jackets. The students were also educated on the problems we face during the winter season like flu, cold and cough. The Assembly ended with a beautiful foot-tapping dance leaving everyone spellbound!

PRESIDIANS ENHANCE THEIR MATHEMATICS SKILL WITH FRACTION ACTIVITY

Fraction is a building block for other Math skills. To strengthen the skills of Mathematics, Presidians participated in a fascinating activity of fractions. They were introduced to fractions by connecting to their prior knowledge. Students gave many examples of fractions from their real life like equal slices of pizza, fruit, a bar of chocolate, etc. The teacher explained to the students that a fraction simply tells us how many parts of a whole we have. Students were also asked to bring different varieties of food items like pizza, burger, chapati etc. Through this activity they learnt to identify the various wholes and their equal/unequal parts.
