Story writing is a skill designed to amuse the reader. It is a creative skill that involves both reader and writer. Students apply their imagination and pen them down in easily understandable language. While writing a story a student is well aware of the key elements to keep the curiosity of the reader intact. Through the concept of story writing, students learned to write meaningful dialogues which very well portray the expressions of the character. Students learned the skill of forming a storyline that has conflicts, mystery and there is a turning point that leads to a meaningful climax or resolution and the story ends making a connection with the overall theme line. Through this activity students mastered their skills of writing a good storyline.

Army Day is celebrated on 15 January every year in India, in recognition of Field Marshal Kodandera M. Cariappa's (then a Lieutenant General) taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army. The day is celebrated in the form of parades and other military shows in the national capital New Delhi and all headquarters. The motto of the Indian Army is 'service before self' and its mission is to ensure national security and national unity, defend the nation from external aggression and internal threats, and maintain peace and security within its borders. Students of Presidium celebrated Army Day with the feeling of enlightenment and realization about the role of a soldier in our lives. Students were filled with patriotic feelings when they made posters of army men. They understood that this day is celebrated to be thankful and express feelings of gratitude towards those who fight for us in harsh circumstances and stay away from their loved ones so that the civilians can sleep peacefully. Students were enrolled to stay united and stand together for the safety of mankind.

To mark the annual celebration of New Year for the year 2022, Presidium organized a grand virtual celebration for all the Presidians. We all welcomed the arrival of the new year with great passion and enthusiasm. All the students and teachers were united to celebrate with joy, refreshment, and entertainment. The students performed various dances wearing traditional, vibrant costumes. Students shared their good moments signifying the importance of happiness in one’s life.

Understanding or writing an autobiography includes the skills of processing, analyzing, and reflecting. One such activity was organized for G-5 to engage with one another, connect to their own experiences, and share their ideas with the class. This activity helped students write effectively and with detail about their personal history (family, friends, neighborhood), growth, and goals over time. Students read and critique published autobiographies to help understand effective writing techniques used and Completed the final product as a published piece.

Christmas is a festival of joy, sharing, and giving. Christmas is also celebrated to rejoice the birth of Jesus Christ. To spread this message amongst one and all, students of Presidium presented a special assembly on Christmas. The assembly was followed by a musical skit based on the birth of Jesus Christ. The students enthusiastically participated and enacted the roles of Mr. Scrooge, three ghosts, and the Angel. Melodious carols were sung by our young choir, getting everybody into the spirit of Christmas and its gaiety. Fun and Frolic, Good Cheer, and Happiness were seen in the revelry as students danced to the foot-tapping Christmas song. Students left the assembly happy with the aim to celebrate Christmas with a new spirit of caring and sharing, to spread the joy of the season around.

National Farmers’ Day, or Kisan Diwas, is celebrated across the country on December 23 to honor India’s farmers and mark the birth anniversary of the nation’s fifth Prime Minister, Choudhary Charan Singh. This year, Kisan Diwas takes place against the backdrop of intensifying farmers’ protests on the borders of the national capital. Our country is known for agriculture and is mainly agriculture based. Students were very excited to learn about the different agricultural states with different crops, lifestyle of mankind and how they have brought glory to our country. This activity cultivated curiosity among each student towards learning and applying their understanding about the human relations with each other and helped them realize the importance of respecting the nation. The farmer is the only man in our economy who buys everything at retail, sells everything wholesale, and pays the freight both ways.

Descriptive words help visualize, describe, define, or explain information about people, places, things, situations, or actions. In accordance with the theme - Describing words, Presidians of grade 3 recently participated in describing word activity by Drawing and Coloring different objects and using different words to describe their uniqueness. Students also frame sentences using their knowledge of words. Students were very excited to learn different words used to understand the position of the object. This activity cultivated the curiosity among each student towards learning and applying different words. Students used their creativity in drawing and pasting pictures this helped them in the development of their psychomotor skills as well as enhanced their cognitive abilities towards learning English. Words are powerful and using them wisely is one way of smooth communication.
