COMMUNITY HELPERS DAY: INSTILLING RESPECT FOR ALL PROFESSIONS
Community Helpers are part of children's everyday lives. When children interact with community helpers, they communicate and socialize. The best way to understand the work of community helpers is to see them in action. Keeping this in mind, a ‘Community Helpers’ day was organised for the students of grade Prep. The school organised visits to places like parks, hospitals, fire station where the students met with helpers like Doctor, Nurse, Gardener, Cobbler , Fireman, Mechanic and got to know about the world beyond home. The activity was aimed at instilling respect for all professions and to learn to value them better. It was an excellent learning engagement as involvement in real world scenarios makes learning more meaningful and memorable for children.
ROLE PLAY: PRESENTING SOCIAL ISSUES WITH SPECTACULAR PERFORMANCES
Role playing allows an actor to step into the shoes of a character. It is a skill that requires a lot of practice before an actor can do it comfortably and well. To explore the hidden talent of our students, an Inter class Role Play Competition was organised at Presidium Pitampura under the academy for theatre "Ring Side View". The objective of this competition was not only to blend learning with fun but also to develop confidence in the little ones. Role play is very valuable tool for exploring social issues, making learning memorable, encouraging cooperation and showcasing skills. Students portrayed themselves as famous personalities with great confidence. It proved to be a great learning experience for all the children.
ROCKSPORT VISIT: PRESIDIANS ENJOY A MEMORABLE & ADVENTUROUS DAY
The biggest adventure is to live life of your dreams. To give them an experience they dreamt of, students of Presidium Pitampura were taken for an outing to Rocksports. Presidians were ready with their belts to climb the Zip Line as they began the adventurous day. Commando Net, Hamster Wheel, Tug of War, Burma Bridge and Hop Scotch were some of the activities enjoyed by them. Their enthusiasm had no limits when they rode a tractor. Beautiful farms surrounded by an eye catching view made this adventure even more memorable. All the students were presented with a Certificate of Participation at the end of the day.
PRESIDIANS OBSERVE WORLD PRAYER DAY IN MEMORY OF ALL THE MARTYRS
Presidium Pitampura observed World Prayer Day with the belief that prayer is the only powerful contact with the greatest force in the universe. Students were sensitised towards the present condition of soldiers deployed on borders and about recent Pulwama terror attack. Students prayed and wrote a letter for the protection of these soldiers, asking God to watch over them and keep them safe from all harm. They also expressed their gratitude and thanked men and women that serve our country in the armed forces to protect us. They acknowledged them for their bravery and service. Students desired the day when wars are no longer waged and soldiers remain at home because peace reigns in the hearts of humanity.
DARWIN’S DAY: PRESIDIANS LEARN THEORIES ON ‘SURVIVAL & SELECTION’
Students of grade 5 celebrated Darwin’s Day with great enthusiasm and zeal. Students talked about Darwin’s contributions to science. They familiarized themselves with the concept of ‘Natural Selection’ and ‘Survival of the Fittest’. Students also concluded that spices which successfully adapted to meet the changing requirements of their natural habitat thrived, while those that failed to do were extinct. To solidify these theories students watched the story ‘Grandmother Fish’ - A child’s first book of evolution.
MAHASHIVRATRI: PRESIDIANS PRAY FOR A PEACEFUL & PROSPEROUS FUTURE
Maha Shivratri or Great Night of Shiva is a festival celebrated in reverence of Lord Shiva. The students of Presidium Pitampura presented a special assembly on Maha Shivaratri. The assembly began with the chanting of sacred mantra "Om Trayambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim pustivardham, Urwarukmivbandhanaan Mrityormuksheey mamritaat". Students enlightened everyone on the significance of the festival by presenting a few relevant facts. The powers and the role of Lord Shiva in the natural cycle were highlighted through the divine tandav and it added a charm to the assembly. The young Presidians enacted the wedding day of Parvati Mata and Lord Shiva and enlightened everyone with their characteristics and personality traits. Through this enactment they also gave a message which helped us to lead a passionate and peaceful life.
SPECTACULAR PERFORMANCES AT THE PRESIDIUM FUTURE FEST 2019!
The two day long gala event, Future Fest 2019, held at Siri Fort Auditorium on 16th & 17th February saw some of the most entertaining and spectacular performances by our young leaders of tomorrow. It was a celebration of the genius, skill, ideas, passion, craft and talents of our young Presidians. The event began with a soulful rendition of Ganesh Vandana followed by performances on various social issues and a tribute to our brave soldiers. The enthusiasm and energy of the young performers could be felt in the auditorium as the audience cheered for the Presidians.

PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE THE BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF SAROJINI NAIDU
On the occasion of the birthday of Sarojini Naidu children of grade 2 observed The National Women‘s Day at Presidium Pitampura. Sarojini Naidu was a prolific writer, a poet and one of the greatest woman freedom fighters. The students remembered this great lady by talking about her achievements in the field of poetry and her tremendous contributions to India during the freedom struggle. She was given the title of The Nightingale of India or Bharat Kokila on the account of beautiful and soul stirring poetry and words given , which were sung by our little Prideens in English and Hindi. She was truly remembered as an epitome of power, a source of inspiration and a woman of substance.
PRESIDIANS LEARN ABOUT GEOMETRY WITH ‘FUN WITH SHAPES’ ACTIVITY
‘Spatial sense is considered a core area of mathematical study. It includes the ability to mentally visualize objects and to turn things around in your mind'. It was a day of Fun with Shapes at Presidium Pitampura. Various activities were organized to encourage participation and to promote creative skills among students. Different shapes were drawn on the floor in the corridor and students were asked to walk on the drawn shapes. It was fun-filled activity that helped children identifying and exploring sides and corners of the shapes. The children were given Jodo Gyan kits to create different shapes to create different shapes like pentagon, 3D shapes like cube and identify their sides and corners. These activities ignited a new spark of creativity and boosted their confidence. Students learnt properties of various shapes by doing these activities. An educational activity that aimed at helping Presidians learn basic properties of simple and geometrical figures were fruitful and a huge success.
PRESDIANS SHOWCASE THEIR LOVE & RESPECT FOR DIVERSE LANGUAGES
Presidium Pitampura held a special assembly to express its love for different languages used by Indians throughout the country. The day began with some interesting facts about English language by the students of grade 5, followed by funny riddles asked in English. A beautiful poem on the topic ‘Parts of speech’ helped everyone to acquire knowledge on the same. We can't forget ‘Rahim and Kabir ke dohe' when it comes to our own Hindi. These dohas helped in spreading the valuable message of our eminent kavis. The sweetness of Urdu language won our hearts with Shayari. We can't have anything complete without Punjabi music and folk boliyan. The entire audience swirled with the sweetness of punjabi boliyan. A moral story was enacted by the students of grade 4 highlighting the value of time. Dance is the hidden language of the soul of the body. Our foreign language enthusiasts enthralled us with a beautiful dance performance on French and Spanish songs. Towards the end, the students were thanked for their wonderful performances in six different languages.
